  • Provide technical leadership in the development of new technologies and products which contribute to long term technology and business vision.
  • Distill complex problems into manageable solutions using chemical engineering, materials science and career experience
  • Develop novel experimental methods to improve application understanding and impact of new technologies
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to assure reliability of new products
  • Ability to synthesize information ranging from macroscopic property tests to molecular level analytical information. 
  • The ideal candidate should have a proven record of introducing industrial products.
  • Provide technical expertise to meet internal and external customer needs and requirements.
  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and effectively communicates with all levels of the organization.
  • Provides Intellectual Property recommendations for Halliburton and reviews technical papers.
  • Represents Halliburton in professional societies in area of specialization.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in chemical engineering, materials science or similar
  • Ability to understand problems at the molecular and macroscopic level and tie them together
  • Ability to model data in order to achieve a deeper understanding of phenomena
  • Experience with rheology or fluid dynamics
  • Ability to interface with external partners and internal customers to develop and vet new technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Preference given to individuals with oil and gas industrial experience


Minimum Qualifications

  • Suitable candidates include PhD Chemists, Chemical Engineers, or Materials Scientists with 0-5 years of experience.
  • Minimum educational requirements are a Doctoral degree and 0-5 years’ experience, or Master’s degree and five or more years’ experience.
  • Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for a higher level role given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available including R&D Senior Chemist and R&D Principal Chemist.
