Tech Prof-Electl/Electronic Sr

Role supporting the global equipment rebuild and installation team

• Under general direction, supports electrical and/or electronic hardware for cementing equipment and systems; This may include analogue and digital circuitry, power transmission and distribution, signal and communications systems.
• Diagnoses instrument and electrical and/or electronic system problems
• Independently performs analytical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical and/or electronic systems
• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using a judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
• Provide technical guidance to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers as required.
• May provide technical leadership in developing solutions and/or devising new approaches to problems encountered
• Comply with Halliburton HSE and Service Quality requirements
• Provides engineering support for the installation, commissioning and repair Halliburton equipment as per Halliburton procedures;
  • Equipment includes; PLC Control systems, Variable Frequency Drive interfaces, motor starter panels, electrical enclosures, diesel engines, transmissions, high pressure pumps, electro-mechanical equipment, generators, chemical metering systems, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls and a variety of other energy services equipment
• Requires good ability to create electrical block and termination diagrams, installation and equipment drawings, and an understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits/drawings/prints
• Assists in supervising others. Provides job training and guidance on a regular basis
• Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and comply with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations
• Job role will generally be office based and may require occasional workshop, offshore, shipyard / quayside work, including occasional international travel

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, tests and supports electrical circuits for surface equipment
• Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical and/or electronic circuits for surface equipment

Education and Experience:

• Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar discipline, and 5+ years of related experience.
• Drilling VFD/VSD experience required
• Good working knowledge of single phase and three phase AC power distribution systems. Equipment isolation and safe working practices
• Field experience preferred
• Project Management Experience desirable
• CompEx (EX01-EX04) certification or experience desirable
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and software (i.e. Cat ET, STEP 7 etc.) desirable

• Good writing skills
