Petrophysics Product Owner (Product Specialist)

Halliburton-Landmark is looking for an experienced geoscientist that would like to take their career in a new direction, using their geoscience skills to drive the development of software products. The position available is for a Product Owner (PO) for the well analysis and interpretation software portfolio. This role reports to the Well Analysis Solution Owner as part of the Subsurface software development technical business line. The role is based out of the Halliburton-Landmark offices in Abingdon near Oxford, UK, with travel potentially accounting for up to 10% of their time.
We are looking for an individual that possesses skills across the petrophysics and geomechanics subject areas. Industry experience applying petrophysical and geo-mechanical workflows and technologies to real world examples is required.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the product meeting customer needs and quality and usability expectations, while ensuring positive customer experience.
- The Product Owner is an active member of the scrum team responsible for defining stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritizing the Team Backlog to define features and user experience that meet customer expectations.
- Accepts completed stories and works with the QA Lead to ensure test case completeness to the acceptance criteria.
- Updates the product backlog to meet changing market and customer needs upon approval from the senior Product Management organization.
- Responsible for adherence to Agile Development within the solution development lifecycle processes.
- Work with the Solution Owner, executive management, and external stakeholders to help define solution priorities, product direction, and business and commercial strategy.
- Help the Solution & Domain Owners with internal demand channels such as the Sales & Marketing organizations to generate go-to-market and sales-strategy materials, and will use these to help prepare regional channels for new software releases.
- Provide external product demos and presentations and build relationships with current and new customers.
- Participate in professional societies, produce technical journal articles, and maintain their technical areas of expertise
- Experience in managing product teams in software development & commercialization is a plus but not required.
Key accountabilities

Responsible for creating, maintaining, and driving the product vision and roadmap in conjunction with the Domain and Solution Owner, and ensuring that prioritisation of features is based on customer needs, research and analytics.

You will use your technical knowledge to understand the customers’ requirements and work with them to refine the product and features, define their scope and create user stories and acceptance criteria.

Responsible for the product meeting customer needs, quality and usability expectations, while ensuring positive customer experience.

Member of the scrum team responsible for defining stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritizing the team backlog to define features that meet the customer expectations, adhering to Agile methodology and best practice.

Demonstrate the current set of applications to customers and internal stakeholders (DecisionSpace® 365 Petrophysics and Drillworks®) and understand how the applications fit into the wider end-to-end subsurface and drilling workflows. This working knowledge of the application is essential to help prioritize stories.

Works closely with Delivery Management and the Product Engineering organization to clearly define scope that drives resourcing needs.

Product Commercialization and the AARRR funnel - (Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral, Revenue).
Essential Experience and Qualifications

Geoscience or Reservoir Engineering qualification (BSc., Msc. or higher)

5-10 years industry experience performing petrophysical well log analysis and interpretation workflows and preferably experience across geomechanics

Commercial acumen and business focus to understand the value of the product to the customer and work with a customer centric approach

You must have great written, verbal and presentation communication skills to work collaboratively and be confident working with customers

Cross-domain and cross-function engagement and collaboration
