Job Duties

Under broad direction, provides on-site consulting and monitoring of oil well blowout and emergency conditions and assists in drilling operations, as well as firefighting, well-killing and other blow out procedures in emergency drilling situations. Ensures that well-site activities are well managed, coordinated, and completed in accordance with Company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations. Advises on specific servicing problems and recommends use of specialized tools, techniques, and services. Assists in supervising repair and maintenance of equipment. Effectively communicates with customer or operator personnel in the office (e.g., Engineers, Supervisors, etc). Writes detail reports and job prognosis summary. Generates post job analysis report(s) including procedures that were successful and techniques that could be used to improve procedures that were not as successful as planned. Coaches and trains others in proficiency levels I-III. Reviews customer reports. Writes procedure(s) to include downhole tools to be used to accomplish project objective(s), with supervision. Analyzes tool operation as well as current and potential well procedures to assess impact, with supervision. Operates, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems without supervision. Troubleshoot and repairs/replaces firefighting equipment without supervision. Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of pump PV curves and technical manual information for application as appropriate. Able to identify specific procedures and system design for fluid handling and maintenance, without supervision. Assembles and operates jet cutter with supervision in complex environments. Identifies hazards and control measures associated with job specific well control events and develops job specific safety plan for well control operations. Provides the delivery of appropriate B&C well control prevention services for customers. Assist with customer requests and identifies appropriate B&C well control prevention services for customer. Supervises well control operations for well bore hydraulic control. Troubleshoots wellhead components, without supervision. Participates and assists with plans and procedures going forward to correct abnormal well conditions, with supervision. Has ability to supervise entire well control operation based on job conditions. Ensures proper preparation for well control operations and verifies procedures . Executes job procedures for complex jobs (ie: level 4 on price list) using wellsite equipment (ie: Drilling Rigs, W/O rigs, HWO operations, CTU & W/L operations), with supervision. Participates in preparation of procedures for complex jobs (ie: level 4 on price list), with supervision. Completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in wellsite operations. Must work under hazardous conditions including high pressure, high temperature, loud noise, fire, chemical and gas exposures, moving machinery, etc. Must be able to maintain professional relationships with customers. Well organized with strong planning and project management skills required. Attention to detail, quality orientation required. Must be able to organize multiple projects. Excellent communication skills. Strong problem solving abilities. Strong PC computing skills, including MS Office and engineering software. Good communication and effective working relationships exist with other departments.

Qualifications & Required Experiences

Engineering Graduate with Fifteen (15) years of oil & gas industry experience that shall include but not limited to minimum Ten (10) years of experience relating to preventing and remedial engineering tasks for Well Control Operations including blowout contingency planning, relief well planning, critical re-entry, well control modelling including dynamic kill modelling, risk assessment etc.

High School Education / General Education Development (GED) with Twenty (20) years of oil and gas industry experience that shall include but not limited to minimum fifteen (15) years of experience relating to Well Control Incidents, preferably handling / managing Blowouts, Well Fires and Emergency Pressure Control Events including H2S environment.  In addition to above, candidate must have experience in Hot Tapping, Valve Drilling and Freezing Services.
