Under general supervision, functions as a senior member of a Payroll Unit, whose primary responsibility is the processing of employee payrolls, which includes HR and Payroll data gathering, processing, accounting, internal reporting, audit, and external reporting and remittance of all applicable wages and taxes. The incumbent is knowledgeable on changes in prevailing wage-hour and payroll tax laws for all jurisdictions/locations in which Halliburton has operations, particularly as they relate to the assigned area of responsibility. Responsible for complex projects and required to produce proper supporting documentation related to applicable payroll reports, audits, accounting, and tax filings. Responsible for the preparation of adequate documentation in support of internal controls as directed by the process guidelines. Responsible for analysis, reconciliation, and ultimate resolution of a variety of payroll issues. Provides support and guidance as a Subject Matter Expert on complex queries and issues to provide resolution to the team and stakeholders. Provides support to the leadership and team as required to mitigate peak volume bottlenecks. Provides peer training to newer team members. Actively looks to streamline process to drive standardization and efficiency of resources utilized. A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience required. A Bachelors Degree is preferred. This is a senior level individual contributor role.

 

Day to day payroll activities.

 

  • Administering payrolls, month end consolidation and processing support as required.
  • Projects as required such as process improvement, standardisation of payroll systems and assist with system upgrades.
  • Calculation and payment of new hire, termination payments and revised terms changes
  • Payment and reconciliation of bonus payments
  • Calculation, reconciliation and payment of payroll tax and workers compensation returns.
  • Administration, calculation, reconciliation and payment of all superannuation contributions, Annual leave, long service leave and redundancy.
  • Checking and auditing payrolls, ensuring legislative and award/EBA compliance
  • Liaising with management and staff regarding pay enquiries.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of monthly GL Payroll Interfacing and Single Touch Payroll
  • Develop and update payroll procedures, user guides, and online resources.
  • Maintenance of staff records including archiving and filing
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports as required.
  • Support the Global SOX Compliance process.
  • Payments and WHT payments 
  • Super Annuation

 

Skills and experience:

 

  • 08+ years of relevant experience in APAC Payroll.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAP payroll systems, principles of employment law, taxation, and regulations relating to Australian, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia payroll requirements.
  • Demonstrated payroll management & business process improvement experience.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving ability, analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to create, review and supply policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage more than one country payroll (Australia, New Zealand and PNG).
  • Hands on experience with Australia Year End. 2023-year end experience will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret relevant awards and legislation.
  • Customer focussed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Evidence of a confident communication style and clear written communication.
  • Resilience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment to deliver results with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
