Job Duties
The Asset Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operation of assigned oil and gas assets. Acting as the operational steward of the asset under an integrated asset management (IAM) contract, this role ensures production targets are met, facilities are optimized, and all activities comply with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and HSE commitments. The Asset Operations Manager works closely with the Asset Manager, subsurface teams, and functional specialists to maximize asset value across its lifecycle.
Under broad direction of the Asset Manager, the Asset Operations Manager:
- Leads the Asset Operations and Maintenance Organization impacting the planning, growth, profitability and efficiency of the asset.
- Drives uptime and reliability through proactive maintenance, integrity management, and operational excellence programs.
- Champions a strong safety culture and ensures adherence to HSE policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Leads the Operations, Maintenance, and associated teams to effectively and safely deliver the agreed production, budget, schedule and HSE targets. Monitors associated KPIs and implements corrective actions as required.
- Fully complies with all applicable legislation, Company policies and procedures, and provisions of contract, and follows the strategy and plans communicated by senior management.
- Interacts with the Client’s representatives, contractors, local regulators, local authorities, unions and local community to further project objectives.
- Leads by example and monitors the Operations, Maintenance and associated teams, to ensure adherence to competency, HSE, and Quality plans.
- Ensures field operations operate within Operating and Capital Expenditure budget requirements, using project accounting system and authority matrix.
- Executes the Annual Work Program and Budget relevant to the Client’s field operations.
- Supports the Asset Team in long‑range planning, budgeting, and investment decisions.
- Provides operational input into reservoir management, facility upgrades, and debottlenecking projects.
- In agreement with line management, develops the local management system including internal auditing, training, reporting, standards development, maintaining relevant databases, and supporting information systems including the production and distribution of the various reports.
- Creates a team-based approach that recognizes Halliburton values and conducts the business activities within Halliburton Code of Business Conduct.
Requires the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with company-wide team members, professionals, and senior leadership as well as with external stakeholders such as partners, clients, national oil companies, and government departments. Over time, will become very knowledgeable of Halliburton technologies and solutions experience together with the exploitation methodologies and technologies other companies apply.
Qualifications
Requires an undergraduate degree in Petroleum or Operations Engineering and a minimum 12 years of experience in production operations which includes experience in oil & gas operations and management experience.
