Job Duties

We are looking to recruit an experienced geostatistican who will bring their expertise to the cutting-edge science behind one of our fastest-rising cloud applications. This role is where complex geostatistical algorithms meet the distributed nature of cloud infrastructure.

 

  • Create and maintain new cutting-edge complex geostatistical algorithms in a cloud infrastructure
  • Fine-tune existing algorithms for accuracy and performance
  • Work with microservices to code complex algorithms in Java and utilize Restful APIs
  • Strong technical communication abilities
  • Maintain a high level of quality through coding best practices
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging technologies
  • Communicate and escalate issues in a clear and timely manner

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of geostatistical related experience and software development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics or Reservoir Engineering
  • Strong foundation in spatial statistics, variograms, and simulation techniques
  • Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Strong experience with coding geostatistical algorithms using Java
  • Strong experience working with microservices, Restful APIs, Docker, and other cloud technologies
  • Experience working in an Agile software engineering environment with scrum teams
  • Prior leadership experience is a plus
  • Fast learner with excellent written and verbal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary multi-cultural team in different time zones
  • Advanced awareness and understanding of AI technologies/tools
  • Familiarity and understanding of modern cloud technologies and microservices

 

Desirable Attributes

  • AI/ML work experience and machine Learning technologies (Python, TensorFlow etc.)
  • Experience in Oil and Gas Domain
