Job Summary
Under broad direction, the Principal Technical Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced technical training programs focused on Testing and Subsea within the oil and energy industry. This role supports both internal employees and external customers through multi-disciplinary technical education, product sales training, and business development curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, deep knowledge in Testing and Subsea, and exceptional training and communication skills across all organizational levels
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver complex technical training programs, including on-the-job training, course development, and product-specific instruction
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess training needs and implement solutions aligned with Product Service Line (PSL) business objectives
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance training effectiveness, cost efficiency, and employee development timelines
- Mentor and coach less experienced instructors and team members
- Stay current with industry advancements and integrate best practices into training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Education, Human Resources, or a related field
- 8–12 years of experience in Human Resource Development, Learning & Development, or PSL operations, including curriculum development and delivery
- Proven subject matter expertise in Testing and Subsea within the oil and energy industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage global training projects and programs
- Strong project management, adult learning, and competency development skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
- 50% Travel Internationally
