  • Mechanical design engineer with experience developing new mechanical devices and/or electromechanical systems
  • Preferred experience includes design, analysis, and validation of mechanical-based products.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical design and material properties for the downhole oil well completion industry.
  • Acts as a project lead by establishing development plans and preparing for design reviews working in a phase/gate product development life cycle phase-gate environment.
  • Guides others on engineering tools, test specifications and assesses application of Health, Safety, and Environment techniques during the design process.
  • Applies and interprets engineering calculations to obtain design solutions and troubleshoot erroneous results.
  • Defines input requirements and develops functional specifications by utilizing basic statistical methods and reliability techniques.
  • Contribute to reliability analysis, such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data; utilizes Root Cause Failure Analysis methodologies where appropriate.
  • Identifies test requirements at component, sub-system, and system levels with emphasis on complying with test standards, industry standards, customer requirements, and HSE procedures
  • Provides written and verbal communication of design analysis and validation test results to subject matter experts and senior leadership
  • Contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
  • Creates an impactful relationship with Halliburton’s technical community, customers, and vendors by proactively collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Participates in professional societies in area of specialization.
  • Skills acquired through the completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Minimum educational requirement of a doctoral degree and zero years’ experience or a master’s degree and two or more years’ related experience or a bachelor’s degree and four or more years’ related experience.
