Blending equipment design engineer works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for project execution in safety, quality, performance, schedule, and cost, which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy, initiative, and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.  This job focuses on design, packaging, and engineering work for mobile, off-highway or offshore equipment and associated subsystems that are used to mix various liquid and dry chemicals for oil and gas operations.

About the Role

The Blending Equipment Design Engineer operates in a dynamic engineering environment, responsible for system level design, packaging, analysis, and integration of equipment used in blending and pumping operations. The role focuses on developing new products, modifying existing systems, and delivering fully integrated equipment layouts. This position contributes to functional design, verification and validation, and support during manufacturing and commissioning.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Perform system level engineering from design definition through commissioning.
•    Design pumping, slurry mixing, fluid power, power train, and structural systems for blending equipment.
•    Develop equipment layouts and general arrangements to ensure complete system integration.
•    Conduct engineering analysis for product changes, new development, and repackaging into trailers, skids, or vessels.
•    Process data, prepare engineering reports, and diagnose equipment system malfunctions.
•    Contribute to reliability activities including risk assessments and FMEA.
•    Define and execute product verification and validation testing.
•    Support Manufacturing during assembly, troubleshooting, and production testing.
•    Maintain communication with project leadership regarding scope, schedule, and cost.
•    Collaborate with cross functional teams including technical, manufacturing, and support groups.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Four or more years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with machinery design and installation, including hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, and instrumentation systems.
  • Knowledge of bulk material flow, fluid dynamics, hydraulic systems, pump specifications, piping systems, and process modeling/simulation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a high‑expectation environment requiring accuracy, initiative, and multitasking.

 

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in well servicing, construction, or mixing equipment design.
  • Exposure to industries handling bulk materials such as petroleum, mining, agriculture, or concrete.
  • Proficiency with Ansys, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards including SAE, NFPA, US DOT, and ASME.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration experience with manufacturing, supply chain, EH&S, or field operations.
  • Project management exposure, including scope, schedule, or cost coordination.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, including technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, including familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization tools.
