Job Responsibilities and Duties

 

Component Technology 
Halliburton’s surface equipment engineering team is focused on reducing the overall cost of ownership on specialized well servicing equipment. R&D Technologists work closely with Engineers and assists in analysis, modification, and design of products and services for assigned projects which requires basic knowledge of materials, components, and their applications. R&D Technologists also are responsible for setting up and executing testing to validate functionality and integrity of components, sub systems and overall equipment performance against Halliburton’s stringent design standards.. Travels approximately 25% of time to offsite locations to assemble, test, repair, and operate equipment.

 

  • Assist in design of new products to be implemented on hydraulic fracturing surface equipment
  • Operating and testing heavy-duty industrial equipment
  • Creating and following detailed test procedures in collaboration with engineers for new materials, components, and sub-assemblies either in the lab or outdoors
  • Installing prototype components and systems
  • Installing and configuring test equipment
  • Debugging test setups and troubleshoots tools and equipment
  • Operating control systems and validating data
  • Documenting test procedures, data, observations, and results
  • Evaluating test data to compare components performance against design standards
  • Communicating and helping resolve test issues with engineering

 

Qualifications and Skills Include

  • 5+ years’ experience in heavy-duty industrial equipment maintenance or testing
  • Mechanically inclined with understanding of heavy-duty industrial equipment (oil and gas equipment experience preferred)
  • Ability to understand and create heavy duty tractor specifications (preferred)
  • Works effectively as a team member as well as individually in a highly collaborative environment
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal team and external suppliers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and create both electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
  • Understanding of controls systems, and experience reading and interpreting various types of data
  • Ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Takes the initiative to go beyond what situations require and focuses on attention to detail by making sure that work is done correctly, completely, and to the highest standards 
  • Requires a high school diploma and minimum of 2 years of related experience. Completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar discipline preferred
