Responsibilities include:

Create/maintain/change complex geostatistical algorithms backing cloud applications.

Fine tune existing algorithms for accuracy and performance.

Write Restful APIs and utilize Java to format algorithms so that other developers can utilize them in a cloud environment.

Work with developers to enable them to better understand the algorithms backing the front-end applications.

Work with testers and product management to provide expert analysis on the obtained results and ensure that the data match the expectations of the algorithms.

Proactively identify areas for improvement within the software system and development processes and propose new solutions.

Under general supervision, demonstrates creativity and engineering judgment in solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.

The successful candidate will assist in designing basic numerical models, data analysis and visual GUI interfaces. Other duties will involve utilizing existing software products to provide engineering solutions and provide support for existing software products.

This position includes balancing multiple priorities smoothly and being adaptable to changes while maintaining a professional image within a team environment.
Requirements

Completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Geoscience, or similar discipline.

10+ years of related experience, including software development experience.

Background in Mathematics and Statistics

Excellent understanding of design principles and considerations, best practice

Java development experience including microservices, unit testing, SpringBoot

Experience with implementing complex algorithms within a distributed system

Experience with Cloud and SaaS Development: Azure and/or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

Must be self-motivated but needs to work well in a team environment

Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Self-Starter; willing to learn new technologies, ability to learn fast

Team player; willing to coach junior team members and cooperate on problem solving
