This entry level position is for a transactional attorney in the area of Supply Chain contracting and Real Estate transactions. Though the candidate should have a good understanding of commercial contracting law, Halliburton has pre-approved Standard Contract Templates including Master Purchase and Services Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Earnest Money Contracts, Leases, and other standard procurement and real estate contracts that capture the Company’s preferred contract terms. This is a position which will require a large volume of negotiation of the contract terms with suppliers of all types, as well as with real estate buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, construction companies and government entities.
Job Description & Requirements
- Under broad direction, this entry level position is responsible for advising the company concerning simple to moderately complex legal issues related to business activities.
- Acts as a company advocate and advisor with respect to legal matters and provides guidance concerning legal rights and obligations, and recommends best practices and courses of action related to legal issues.
- Researches the intent of laws and judicial decisions and applies them to specific circumstances as applicable to company business.
- Interacts with vendors, customers, and internal clients of the company and manages outside counsel with the assistance of supervising attorney.
- Must adhere to a strict code of ethics.
- A Bachelors degree is required, while a Masters degree is preferred.
- In the US, a PhD in law is required.
- 3+ years experience is preferred.
- Must be licensed to practice law in applicable areas.
