Job Duties and Qualifications

The Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining Halliburton's reputation by ensuring cohesive, targeted messaging across internal and external channels. This role supports internal clients, including Marketing, IT, and Supply Chain. The Specialist will be responsible for channel management, media relations, daily media monitoring, software expertise, and producing high-quality corporate documents, such as executive bios. A strategic thinker and a strong writer, this individual will collaborate cross-departmentally to meet Halliburton’s broader communication objectives.

 

Day-to-day Accountabilities

 

Channel Management:

Oversee the Newswire and other communication platforms, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of content across channels.

 

Media Monitoring & Clips:

Monitor daily media coverage relevant to PSL, IT, and Supply Chain, preparing and distributing daily media clips to internal stakeholders.

 

Trade Media Pitching:

Identify opportunities and pitch stories to trade media outlets, focusing on increasing visibility for PSLs and key projects.

 

Content Development:

Write, edit, and review press releases, internal memos, executive bios, and other corporate documents, ensuring all content aligns with communication strategies.

 

Metrics & Reporting:

Track and analyze communication metrics to assess the impact of content, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.

 

Software SME:

Serve as the expert for communication tools, providing support and troubleshooting, while ensuring efficient use of systems, including HMS Admin.

 

Ad Hoc Requests:

Respond to spontaneous communication needs from internal clients, delivering high-quality content under tight deadlines.

 

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

 Work closely with IT, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of communication strategies and campaigns.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements


•    Requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing or Communications, which includes high-level project management experience. 
•    An associate or undergraduate degree in marketing or communications, and experience in Halliburton is preferred.

 

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles give (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from Marketing Specialist to Sr Marketing Specialist or Marketing Supervisor.
