Wireline & Perforating offers formation evaluation, cased-hole logging, and precision perforating services that support production and reservoir management. Our technologies deliver accurate subsurface data and efficient well access to help customers make confident decisions throughout the well lifecycle.
About the Role
The Geoscientist Advisor serves as a senior technical expert within the Wireline & Perforating PSL. Operating under broad direction, this role provides high‑level subject‑matter guidance, leads multidisciplinary initiatives, and delivers advanced geoscience support across new technology development, data interpretation, training, and customer engagement. The position plays a critical role in supporting the launch and deployment of new through‑casing cement evaluation technologies and enhancing the organization’s internal capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a recognized technical expert for geoscience and formation evaluation within the Wireline & Perforating domain.
- Lead complex projects and provide technical direction to teams of 5–10 employees across varying experience levels.
- Guide data review, interpretation workflows, and answer‑product development for emerging cement evaluation technologies.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain Center of Excellence (COE) training programs for global technical personnel.
- Engage directly with customers to present technical solutions, support product adoption, and strengthen business relationships.
- Contribute to business development through proposal support, technical presentations, and customer consultations.
- Support strategy development, budgeting, and financial control activities within the PSL.
- Leverage a global professional network to collaborate on 1–5 concurrent multidisciplinary projects.
- Promote and model best‑practice work processes, project management discipline, and service quality standards.
- Mentor and coach team members, advancing technical competencies and supporting career development.
- Provide expert input into technology roadmaps and internal capability building.
Qualifications
Required:
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in geoscience, formation evaluation, or related technical domains.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with customer engagement and technical consulting.
- Proven capability in data analysis, interpretation, and answer‑product development.
Preferred:
- Experience in cement evaluation or through‑casing diagnostic technologies.
- Prior experience designing or delivering technical training.
