This position will be part of the Global Business Services, reporting to the Senior Director of Global Business Services.

Job Duties

The Global Process Owner for General Accounting is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving global accounting processes to ensure compliance, efficiency, and standardization across all regions. This role serves as the strategic leader for General Accounting processes and related financial controls, aligning processes with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Own key decisions for the global design, governance, and continuous improvement of the end-to-end General Accounting, including account reconciliations, cash application, fixed assets, intercompany, and statutory accounting along with global journal entries processes.
  • Lead initiatives for new finance technologies, process automation, and continuous improvement (e.g., SAP, BlackLine, and other developed solutions).
  • Define and implement future state processes, global templates, and decision frameworks to promote standardization and harmonization of accounting practices across regions and business units.
  • Liaison SAP S/4HANA enablement for General Accounting, ensuring alignment with business strategy, finance transformation goals, and enterprise architecture.
  • Partner with senior Finance and IT leaders to align transformation priorities, change management strategies, and process governance.
  • Function as the primary authority for system configuration and data governance and represent business interests throughout the design, testing and implementation phases.
  • Drive change management, training, and communication plans to support global rollout and sustainment.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure process performance, financial accuracy, and business impact in conjunction with operations partners.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, IFRS, GAAP).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance operations, business process ownership, or ERP transformation, with a focus on end-to-end Record to Report (RTR) including 5+ years in a leadership capacity
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end RTR lifecycle, including journal entries, period-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting.
  • In-depth experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is required; familiarity with BlackLine or an equivalent platform is preferred.
  • Experience in leading multiple, simultaneous process design and implementation projects aimed at process automation and digital transformation.
  • Skilled in developing and executing strategies that ensure seamless integration of innovative technologies while maintaining operational excellence and financial integrity.
  • Enterprise-focused leader skilled in influencing stakeholders, optimizing processes, and guiding teams globally.
  • Familiarity with internal audit and SOX compliance requirements along with other process governance, performance measurement, and continuous improvement criteria.
  • Experience with complex financial structures and regulations of a global organization while being adept at managing priorities in a matrix structure.
  • This position may require up to 15% travel, both domestic and international, to support global process initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
