Job Duties and Qualifications
Job title for this position will be Mechanic Technician I or Mechanic Technician II, depending on experience. Job will primarily function as an Instrument Fitter.
- Under general supervision, performs preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs a variety of mechanical equipment relative to their assigned location.
- Performs function testing to verify equipment readiness after maintenance.
- Must be proficient in understanding/interpreting mechanical schematics/drawings/prints.
- Ensures adherence to and accurate maintenance of, as well as input of, data into Halliburton's system of record.
- This role is responsible for following specific and detailed work processes within the Halliburton Management System (HMS) during daily job activities.
- Performs own work and assists others as directed.
- Responsible for ensuring duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
- Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined.
Additional Job Duties may include:
- Plan layout and installation in accordance with instructions or work requirements using drawings and sketches.
- Measures, cuts and mounts Unistrut supports.
- Install tubing and clamps into cable tray systems.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install tubing and piping.
- Utilize hand and power tools.
- Drill holes in structures and attach brackets, guards, etc. in accordance with the assemble drawing.
- Inspect and maintain tools.
- Communicate needs to operations for permitting requirements
- Ability to complete JSA and mitigate or escalate hazards
- Ability to read P&ID's, Swagelok Tube Bending certification, and Manlift training and certification preferred
Work Environment
- Large amounts of standing, walking, bending, climbing, squatting, and lifting.
- May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely. Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Majority of work will be in an outdoor refinery industrial environment
- Will work in all weather conditions (hot, cool, rain, dust)
- Noise levels will be moderate to high.
- Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year experience in a mechanical field is required.
- Technical school certificate, Prior Experience cutting, bending, and installing alloy tubing (304SS, 316L SS, Alloy 825) and 4-6 Years of Instrumentation tubing bending experience preferred.
