About the Role

The Materials Control Specialist is responsible for inventory planning, materials management, and supply chain coordination activities that support Baroid operations.

This role works closely with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, customer service, and operational teams to ensure material availability, optimize inventory levels, and support efficient order fulfillment. The position plays a key role in inventory planning, forecasting, materials analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to operational performance and financial objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead inventory planning activities and participate in local inventory review meetings to align supply with operational demand.

• Maintain and optimize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data to support effective inventory management and replenishment processes.

• Analyze inventory trends, material demand, and supply requirements to optimize inventory levels and improve material availability.

• Identify, manage, and support redeployment of excess or obsolete inventory to improve inventory utilization and reduce costs.

• Coordinate sales order fulfillment activities and support delivery reconciliation processes.

• Monitor inventory performance metrics and provide reporting and analysis to PSL leadership.

• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and customer service teams to prioritize orders, manage lead times, and support forecast accuracy.

• Support receiving, inventory movement, and goods issue processes to ensure accurate inventory records and material flow.

• Identify process gaps and implement solutions to improve inventory accuracy, service levels, and operational efficiency.

• Support Lean, continuous improvement, and cost optimization initiatives across the supply chain organization.

• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 4+ years of experience in inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, supply chain, or related operational environments
OR a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working with inventory management, planning, or ERP/MRP systems.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

• Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and priorities.

 

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, energy, or oilfield operations.

• Familiarity with inventory planning, forecasting, demand management, and materials analytics.

• Experience supporting Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.

• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or similar enterprise platforms.
