Overview:
R&D Chemist professional with demonstrated proficiency in technical roles for upstream Oil & Gas specialty production chemicals, with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience, including specific expertise in asset integrity management and design and evaluation of corrosion inhibitors in laboratory and their transference to field applications.
Areas of expertise:
- Corrosion inhibitor applications for upstream and downstream.
- Laboratory evaluation of corrosion inhibitors.
- Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and Design of Experiments.
- Fundamentals of physical chemistry, electrochemistry, and interfacial phenomena.
- Strong background in organic and analytical chemistry.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and recommend corrosion inhibitors for a range of oilfield applications that also involve the use of other oilfield specialty chemicals, such as, emulsion breakers, water clarifiers, paraffin inhibitors, scale inhibitors etc.
- Support or lead the continuous improvement of laboratory testing procedures reflecting the development of new state-of-the-art technologies
- Design testing matrices and analyze laboratory data using statistical analysis and DOE tools.
- Work independently on assignments with complex technical issues and deliver technical recommendations to internal and external customers
General Responsibilities:
- Guides employees on how to perform advanced chemical research and development by applying current laboratory HSE standards and recognizes exceptions to normal chemical trends.
- Oversees the development of new technologies and products which contributes to long term technology and business vision.
- Leads projects by developing new experimental designs and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provides Intellectual Property recommendations for Halliburton and reviews technical papers.
- Provides technical expertise to meet internal and external customer needs and requirements.
- Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and effectively communicates with all levels of the organization.
- Represents Halliburton in professional societies in area of specialization.
Qualifications
- Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Minimum requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering and five years of related experience.
- Completion of a masters or doctoral degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering is highly preferred.
