We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.

Under broad direction from the Global Technical Services Manager, this position’s responsibility is to ensure that the company is able to provide specialty chemical applications expertise for H2S scavenging, bacterial control, and iron sulfide prevention/remediation applications.  We are looking for a candidate with 10+ years of experience in general technical services, oilfield microbiology, sulfide remediation, or other asset integrity experience.  You will be expected to function with a high degree of autonomy, and previous experience with managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously is an asset.  The major geographic focus area will be US land, but periodic support from you may also be required in Latin America or the Middle East/North Africa.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will play key roles in developing our applications expertise and executing for our clients by:
    • Providing product recommendations from our commercial portfolio that meet the technical and economic KPIs of our clients.  Where existing formulations cannot meet those KPIs, you will develop business cases to support internal R&D initiatives that drive new product development
    • Preparing written standards and procedures that can be adopted by the organization and used to help us effectively service hydrogen sulfide, microbial control, and iron sulfide treatment applications
    • Mentorship of your technical and field colleagues to help strengthen their ability to respond to customer needs
    • Ensuring that technical proposals are professionally prepared, meet the expectations of major operators, and help us put forward a compelling offer to our clients
    • Supporting field/plant trials by ensuring that technical Scope of Work (SOW) documents and KPI monitoring templates are available, and providing direct operational support to the trial as needed
    • Troubleshooting existing applications when perceived or real product performance issues arise
  • This is a senior level position that will be considered a trusted advisor to the company on both technical and business matters. As such, we would also expect you to:

    • Establish a good rapport and ongoing collaboration with scientists located at the company’s Houston Technology Center
    • Offer advice to upper management, as requested, regarding the company’s overall strategy and plan to expand our market share in the Region, and offer other advice to Management as may be requested.  Provide periodic updates to Leadership on the overall status of our endeavors and ability to respond to commercial opportunities
  • Other items:
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed, primarily in US land but occasionally in Latin America or the Middle East/North Africa
    • Make recommendations on laboratory or field equipment needed at field locations to ensure service excellence to our clients
    • Maintaining a strong safety culture

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in general technical services, oilfield microbiology, sulfide remediation, or other asset integrity experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed, primarily in US land but occasionally in Latin America or the Middle East/North Africa

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.  Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Chief Global Technical Services Advisor.
