Role Overview

As a Technical Advisor and Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective full-stack applications using Angular, Node.js, and cloudnative technologies (Azure/AWS). You will lead one or more development teams, providing technical excellence leadership and mentoring to developers, testers, and support staff. Your deep understanding of both software engineering and the oil and gas industry will enable you to challenge and improve the software delivery process, ensuring timely and fit-for-purpose solutions.

Job Duties

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective full-stack applications using Angular, Node.js, and cloud-native technologies (Azure/AWS).
  • Build responsive web interfaces and robust backend services with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Implement automated testing strategies and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and Jenkins.
  • Follow secure coding practices, proactively triage and resolve security vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead large-scale, complex engineering projects, identifying areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions to enhance system performance and development processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers, testers, and support staff across one or more teams.
  • Guide teams on application security standards, secure coding practices, and secure architecture designs.
  • Drive product planning and architecture decisions for complete software systems with a strong technical focus.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments, aligning development efforts with product goals and business needs.
  • Assist with the design, research, and development of new applications and major enhancements.
  • Ensure technical excellence and consistency across teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, software development best practices, and trends in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and generative AI.
  • Familiarity with working with generative AI models and agentic workflows is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and evolving technical landscapes is a must.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, including experience leading software
    development projects.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (v12–16+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS.
  • Strong backend skills in Node.js (required); C# or Python preferred.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with microservices, API integration, and system design.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities.
  • Oil & Gas domain experience is a plus.
