We are looking for a highly qualified and analytical Senior Tax Manager to play a key leadership role within our Global Tax Provision and Compliance team. This position is responsible for overseeing the quarterly and annual income tax provision under ASC 740, managing uncertain tax positions under FIN48 (ASC 740-10), supporting SEC tax reporting requirements, and enhancing tax forecasting and analytics.
Reporting to the Senior Tax Director of Global Tax Provision and Compliance, this role partners closely with tax, finance, accounting, internal audit, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective management of global tax risks across operations spanning more than 80 countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the quarterly and annual global income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions for U.S. and non-U.S. entities in 80+ countries.
- Review and analyze monthly legal entity tax forecasts and global cash tax forecasts, providing insights into key tax drivers and forecast variances.
- Manage the intercompany tax provision and eliminations to ensure accurate consolidated tax reporting.
- Coordinate with the accounting and finance teams to support tax journal entries and facilitate monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
- Monitor and analyze effective tax rate (ETR) drivers and provide clear explanations of tax results and forecast variances to management.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax-related disclosures included in SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q. Review effective tax rate reconciliations, deferred tax rollforwards, tax footnotes, and other income tax disclosures.
- Interpret and apply tax accounting guidance for complex transactions, merger and acquisitions, and emerging issues. Prepare and review technical memoranda supporting tax positions and reporting conclusions.
- Lead the quarterly FIN 48 analysis, documentation, and reporting process. Evaluate and quantify uncertain tax positions, tax contingency reserves, and related interest and penalties. Prepare and maintain technical documentation supporting tax positions and audit defense strategies. Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders regarding FIN 48 conclusions and disclosures.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality, accuracy, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Advanced tax or accounting credentials preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive tax experience, including extensive knowledge of ASC 740, U.S. GAAP income tax accounting, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
