Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, rigs-up and rigs-down fiber optic installation and acquisition equipment on wellsite locations for the purpose of installing fiber optic cables into sub-surface geological formations.

Operates fiber optic installation equipment during cable deployment on rig operations

Operates fiber optic splicing and testing equipment to terminate fiber and measure signal (Fusion Splicing & OTDR)

Maintains, cleans and performs preventative maintenance on downhole installation equipment

Performs pre and post job vehicle and equipment inspections and associated paperwork and/or reports.

Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.

Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.

Operates data acquisition equipment during long-term monitoring projects (DAS/DTS/DPS)

This position may include wireline job duties such as assisting in the installation of fiber optic retrievable based applications.
Qualifications:
-
High school or similar education and 6 months of experience as an Operator Assistant II is required.

Licensure to drive commercial equipment is preferred.

Successful completion of Well Control Accreditation Program may be required (some locations).

Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary.

The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.

Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.

Basic computer skills are preferred.
