Job Duties and Qualifications
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Corporate Tax Accounting Supervisor to oversee our global tax provisions. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of international tax regulations and U.S. GAAP ASC 740 tax accounting principles, coupled with strong analytical abilities. As a key member of our tax team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Non-U.S. tax laws while optimizing tax efficiencies for the organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Non-U.S. Tax Provision Management:
o Review of the Non-U.S. tax provisions and forecasts in accordance with local tax regulations and U.S. GAAP tax accounting standards.
o Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy of U.S. GAAP tax accounts and determine realizability of deferred tax assets through valuation allowance review.
o Collaborate and partner with Regional Tax Managers in relation to quarterly and annual income tax provision and the global consolidation process.
o Assist regional tax managers on tax basis balance sheets and return to accrual (RTA) calculations.
o Prepare quarterly and annual income provision processes relating to discrete reporting, valuation allowance analysis, Cash, ETR, and deferred movement explanations.
2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Non-U.S. tax provisions into financial reporting processes and identify tax efficient strategies.
o Provide insightful analysis of Non-U.S. tax impacts on financial statements and forecast while highlighting key trends and areas for optimization.
o Support external auditors by providing requested documentation and explanations related to Non-U.S. tax provision calculations.
3. Tax Planning and Strategy:
o Assist with tax accounting implications of internal and external reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, and liquidations.
o Evaluate potential tax implications of business initiatives and transactions, providing guidance to mitigate risks and maximize tax benefits.
o Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax provision calculations, especially with respect to utilization of technology (Alteryx, Power BI, OneSource workpapers, etc.)
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
o Assist with monitoring Non-U.S. tax filing requirements and the provision positions of tax filings.
o Monitor legislative changes, statutory tax law developments, and FASB guidance while communicating the tax accounting effects of these developments to management.
o Manage S/Ox compliance and improve upon processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in ASC 740, with a preferred focus on Non-U.S. tax provision.
• Thorough understanding of international tax principles, transfer pricing, and tax treaty provisions.
• Proficiency in tax accounting software (Onesource Tax Provision), ERP systems (SAP), and complete knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret complex tax accounting concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
