About the Role

The Senior Data Scientist leads project tasks and global initiatives focused on data engineering, advanced analytics, modeling, and deployment in support of business development and commercial decision-making. Operating with a high degree of independence, this role partners directly with subject matter experts to source, prepare, and analyze complex datasets from multiple internal and external sources.

This role designs, builds, and deploys AI/ML and analytical models, contributes to technical strategy, and identifies opportunities to improve data processes and methodologies. The Senior Data Scientist also supports thought leadership through publications, patents, and participation in industry forums.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project tasks and global initiatives involving data engineering, data modeling, AI/ML, and model deployment.
  • Collaborate independently with subject matter experts to define data requirements and extract data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Perform data cleaning, validation, transformation, and documentation, including development and maintenance of data dictionaries.
  • Design, build, and validate analytical and predictive models aligned with business development and commercial objectives.
  • Implement model deployment using off-the-shelf platforms or in collaboration with software developers and data engineers.
  • Translate analytical results into clear insights and actionable recommendations for technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and help shape the team’s technical and analytical strategy, identifying opportunities for process improvement and standardization.

 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) required.
•    4+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or related technical roles.
•    Demonstrated experience in data engineering, model development, and analytics workflows.
•    Ability to work independently across the full data lifecycle, from data acquisition to model deployment.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate analytical results to non-technical audiences.

 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
•    Experience applying data science in commercial, business development, or operational contexts.
•    Exposure to model deployment pipelines, cloud-based analytics platforms, or scalable data solutions.
•    Experience contributing to patents, publications, or technical innovation initiatives.

 

Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for higher-level positions based on experience, capability, and business needs. Career progression includes Senior Data Scientist and Principal Data Scientist.
