We are looking for a Sr. Tax Manager who will combine his/her tax expertise with supervisory and organizational skills to lead a team of professionals and to manage the transfer pricing strategy function. He/she will report to the Senior Director of Tax Planning and & Global Transfer Pricing and act as an important liaison among Corporate Global Tax, the Regional Tax Managers (RTM), and the foreign Finance/Accounting (F&A) team. Advanced technical skills with well-developed and applied management and supervisory skills are required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of U.S. 6662 transfer pricing documentation preparation and implementation of global transfer pricing policies
- Managing financial and functional analyses to determine transfer pricing implications of supply chain decisions, deals and acquisitions
- Performing analysis of Halliburton's intellectual property and developing financial valuation models
- US and non-US audit support, including IDR responses, financial analysis and research
- Communicating the transfer pricing policy and handling inquiries from operating groups and international locations
- Collaborating effectively across the tax, finance, legal and operating organizations
- Keeping abreast of developments in US and OECD tax/transfer pricing regulations and identifying issues or opportunities attendant to those developments
- Managing multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment
- Maintain communication with the outside auditing firm’s tax and audit team on transfer pricing issues during the interim/year-end close process.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation requirements related to transfer pricing matters;
- Develop and implement process improvements that increase the efficiencies in the transfer pricing space while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Be proactive on the new projects that will improve the transfer pricing process and reduce overall outside consulting fees;
- Staff management responsibilities, including staffing, mentoring and performance evaluations
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field and 10 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and competency
- Master's degree in Economics is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of transfer pricing experience with a combination of “Big 4” public accounting and large multi-national corporations preferred
- Must be highly motivated transfer pricing expert with a deep understanding of transfer pricing principles
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required, particularly the ability to explain complex tax strategies and concepts to non-tax professionals at very senior level
- Experience with economic and financial modeling techniques including regression analysis.
- Thorough understanding of financial accounting and an ability to analyze and understand financial statements.
- Familiar with international tax issues (as they relate to transfer pricing) in complex intercompany and third party transactions.
- Willingness to dive into the details of the transfer pricing strategy of the company and review for process for improvements
- Experience with FIN 48 and corporate tax reporting, a plus.
