Data Analytics, Diagnostics and Prognostics Team is Looking for You


Halliburton invites qualified candidates to apply for a position with the Data Analytics team in Houston, Texas. Candidates with interests and background in big data analytics of electro mechanical systems, diagnostic and prognostic automation, signal processing and machine learning are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to perform original and relevant research and development to expand the group’s expertise and technology portfolio. 



  • Proficiency in MATLAB or other programming languages, develop codes and executables for advanced data pre-processing and complex logic automation.
  • Develop machine learning algorithms for field applications to improve reliability, efficiency and for continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to the identification of high value problems and opportunities
  • Design smart systems to augment complex tasks
  • Collaborating with team members and providing necessary support for technology transfer
  • Publishing results in patent applications, technical journals, and conferences.

Required Education and Skills

  • A MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Chemical Engineering with focus on Data Analytics, Automation, and Machine Learning.
  • Skills acquired through the completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Minimum educational requirement of a master’s degree and zero years’ experience or bachelor’s degree and two or more years’ related experience.
  • 3-5 years of MATLAB or other programming language experience developed and implemented algorithms for complex projects.
  • Experience and strong interest in solving practical problems, from invention to implementation in the field.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, strong communication skills, and collaborative in complex engineering projects.


Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Engineer, Sr.Engineer up to a Principal Engineer.
