Under broad direction, an Geoscientist, Assoc II applies advanced knowledge gained via a STEM degree and internal training to perform detailed production, nuclear spectroscopy, acoustics and electro- magnetics analyses of highly-specialized sensor data obtained from hydrocarbon reservoirs. The analyses are performed using highly specialized scientific methods such as interpreting algorithms and workflows that translate the measured data into hydrocarbon reservoir rock and fluid properties. The Geoscientist, Assoc II compiles the resulting analyses and their findings in a report that is provided to oil and gas company customers. They use discretion in selecting the parameters used in the analyses that they perform and to determine if there are quality issues with the sensor data. Their customers are geo- scientists (petro-physicists, geologists, geophysicists) and engineers (reservoir engineers, completion engineers, production engineers) who use the analyses and findings provided to make decisions on if, and how the oil and gas companies develop their hydrocarbon reservoirs. Geoscientist, Assoc II’s provide analyses on data from multiple sensor types while they develop their analysis skills for integrated sensor interpretation. They are routinely involved in customer engagements to review their analyses and findings, and have some involvement in business development activities.
