Lawyer (Attorney - Counsel - Sr Counsel)

The position requires strong contract review and negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to interpret laws and judicial decisions in a business context. The attorney will work closely with internal departments, external clients, vendors, and outside counsel, and must consistently demonstrate sound judgment and a commitment to the highest ethical standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Advise on a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, regulatory issues, and corporate governance
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements (e.g., service agreements with customers and vendors, licensing, confidentiality, alliance, distributor agreements, letters of intent and memorandums of understanding)
- Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions that support business objectives while protecting the company’s interests
- Support corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and financings, as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Procurement, Compliance, HR, and Finance
- Liaise with external counsel and manage legal costs effectively
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure compliance across the organization
- Prepare and deliver presentations and training to internal teams on legal and compliance matters
- Maintain proper documentation and adhere to internal policies and best practices
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 3 years plus of legal experience in energy industry commercial contracting is required
- Experience in the field of government contracting requirements is a plus
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
