Under strict supervision, initiates and coordinates quality related data from production, service, or process improvement activities and reports data using statistical techniques. Collects, organizes, monitors, and distributes information related to quality and process improvement functions, including but not limited to compliance and/or documentation of quality management standards. Provides routine support services to broader tax technical groups within which they operate. Responsible for maintaining accounting documents and records, as well as ensuring reports are prepared and maintained timely and accurately. Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies. Requires Bachelors or Undergraduate degree. Excellent personal communications skills and ability to work in team environment are required.


Tax Advisor – Full time position (9 months fixed term contract with possibility of extension or conversion into permanent contract)

With a view to start on 1 January 2022.


Be part of our Tax team supporting the Australasian operations of a globally successful Oil & Gas services company. Located in our Jandakot facility, south of Perth.


Reason for Vacancy

Cover maternity leave of incumbent.

Reporting to the Tax Compliance Manager the duties of the successful candidate will include:


  • Assist with the Preparation of FBT Returns and other associated tasks.


  • Review of international invoices for appropriate GST or VAT treatment. Completing monthly Australian GST returns


  • Tax effect/accounting calculation for the Australian (monthly) and Timor Entities


  • Tax Fixed Asset registers maintenance on a monthly basis.


  • Review of international invoices for appropriate withholding tax treatment. Preparation of monthly and annual withholding tax returns for Australia and Timor-Leste.


  • Preparation of Income Tax returns for Australian based subsidiary entities. Assist with the preparation of Income Tax returns for Timor-Leste as required.


  • Assist with responding to the Tax Office review and enquiries


The key skills required for this role include:

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a can do attitude and strong interpersonal skills. For this position a high level of accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail is required.


Some background in Taxation (minimum of 5 years’ experience) with a relevant accounting qualification and CA or CPA qualification.


Work experience with SAP and strong Excel skills will be highly regarded as well as exposure to Big 4 firms or a large Corporation.
