Technical Professional- Data Science/ Senior/ Principal

Job Duties

• Under general supervision, a Data Scientist will perform data engineering, data modeling or model deployment.
• A Data Scientist will collaborate to obtain data from sources, complete data clean up and build a data dictionary under guidance.
• This role is able to build models under guidance and understand how to deploy the model and assist in the deployment process.
• An undergraduate degree in STEM and 1+ years of related experience is required, master's degree in STEM preferred.

Role Overview

Under general supervision, the Data Scientist will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced data science and AI solutions, with a strong emphasis on Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data engineering, data modeling, and model deployment activities, with a primary focus on Generative AI and LLM‑based applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to source, clean, and curate structured and unstructured data, including scanned documents, leveraging Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies.
• Design, develop, and deploy advanced GenAI solutions such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to enable enhanced question‑answering and enterprise knowledge discovery.
• Build and implement agentic AI systems using LLMs to automate complex workflows, support decision‑making, and extract insights from large datasets.
• Develop, fine‑tune, and evaluate machine learning and AI models under guidance, with opportunities to take ownership of GenAI initiatives as experience and expertise grow.
• Support the deployment and integration of AI solutions into production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into effective, AI‑driven solutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

• Postgraduate degree in Data Science is required.
• A Ph.D. or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with Generative AI, LLMs (e.g., GPT, Llama, Claude), OCR technologies, RAG architectures, and agentic system design is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Python, machine learning frameworks, and familiarity with cloud‑based AI services.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Work Details

• Working Hours / Shift: Typically 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST; may require occasional evening meetings to align with Houston‑based stakeholders.
• Work Location: Pune
• Work Pattern: Hybrid (Work from Office / Work from Home, as per role requirements)
