Mechanical engineering experience of 6 years or more. Performs general engineering duties in planning and designing Downhole tools in all phases of a project (conception to sustaining). This includes Structural, materials, mechanisms, hydraulics, seals, vibration, etc.  Oversee prototype installation, operation, and offer technical assistance for the Oil and Gas industry equipment.

Education:

A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with sufficient experience is required as a minimum, although a Masters degree is preferred.

Expected Skills:

  • Efficient in CAD (Soidworks) and use of general engineering tools.
  • Competent in basic structural and thermal FEA (Ansys).
  • Tolerance stack-up on assemblies
  • Good English language verbal and written
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, models, and assemblies.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  •  Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships
  • An understanding of fluid, materials, dynamics, kinematics, etc.

 

Expected Daily tasks:

  • Read, interpret, and generate technical drawings, schematics, reports, etc.
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design (CAD) in specific Solidworks software. Use FEA (Ansys) to check and verify designs
  • Research, design, and evaluate, mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements of a project specification.
  • Confer with other engineers (ME, EE,….) and team members to implement and resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Investigate equipment failures and make recommendations on improvements.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Summarize work and collect new and improved ideas in Patent Disclosures.
  • Work with third party vendors to improve designs and receive parts and equipment.
