Sperry Drilling is seeking experienced Senior MWD/LWD Field Engineers to join our Measurement While Drilling (MWD) organization in Norway. Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Field Engineer LWD, you will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of MWD/LWD services, ensuring high data quality and strong customer engagement. Your key responsibilities will include:
- On-site delivery of LWD services, including tool preparation, BHA assembly, data acquisition, and quality control
- Quality assurance of formation evaluation and drilling mechanics data while drilling
- Proactive interaction with customer representatives, providing support in geology, petrophysics, and drilling efficiency
- Daily communication and reporting to the onshore operations team
- Delivery of services in full compliance with company HSE standards and expectations
The role may involve offshore assignments as well as onshore Real-Time Center operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an MWD/LWD Engineer
- Halliburton MWD experience is required
- Proven experience with Sonic and iStar platforms
- Proven experience with EarthStar and reservoir mapping tools
- Experience with NMR and advanced Formation Testing is an advantage
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BSc/MSc) in Petroleum Engineering, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred
- Valid offshore safety and health certification
- Fluency in English; knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage

Location and Work Model
In line with the industry’s development toward remote delivery models, candidates based in the Stavanger area or willing to relocate are preferred. Onshore assignments should be expected as part of the role.
