Job Duties and Qualifications
Under direct supervision, provides on-site supervision of Measurement-While Drilling (MWD)/Logging-While Drilling (LWD) and Directional Drilling (DD) processes, including tool preparations, data acquisition, and delivery of the services to the customer. Ensures that data presented to the customer is accurate, timely, and meets the highest possible service quality standard. Assists in providing the customer with expected and needed data and in identifying possible problems to the customer. Assists in providing technical consultation to the customer. Properly tests all tools and equipment before, during, and after each job. Understands principles of Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) selection and aspects of DD performance and ensures that BHA&aposs are assembled as planned including correct make-up torque, doping, and handling. Assists in accurately completing all required forms, databases, and reports (i.e. service vouchers, lost/damaged equipment, radiation site survey, End of Job Customer Survey (EJCS) report, First Alert Database (FAD)/Correction, Prevention and Improvement (CPI). Aware of customer requirements regarding directional survey procedures. Assists in interfacing with the Remote Drilling Coordinator and/or Directional Driller (RDC-DD) to ensure BHA compatibility, planned operating parameters are within specification, and correct tool face references are applied. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. An undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline is required. Requires completion of the basic M/LWD and DD training programs, and a minimum of 3 months of experience in the field, preferably working as an FSS, Assoc. Must possess or be able to obtain any relevant on or offshore safety certificates.
