About the Role

The Electrical Engineer supports the design, development, validation, and commercialization of next-generation Artificial Lift technologies. This role serves as a technical contributor and project leader within multidisciplinary teams, driving innovation in electrical system architecture, power electronics, and motor drive systems that enhance reliability, safety, and product competitiveness.

Under general supervision, the Senior level leads defined technical scopes. At the Principal and Advisor levels, the role expands to include system architecture ownership, advanced technical leadership, and cross-functional influence across complex development programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical system architecture development for Artificial Lift products, including power electronics, motor drives (VFD/VSD), embedded systems, and surface/downhole interfaces.
  • Develop and execute development plans, validation strategies, and qualification test protocols.
  • Design and review schematics, PCB layouts, motor control systems, firmware integration plans, and associated technical documentation.
  • Apply simulation and modeling tools to evaluate system performance, thermal behavior, EMI/EMC robustness, and long-term durability.
  • Perform reliability engineering activities including FMEA, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Support international regulatory compliance and certification efforts (e.g., CE, UL, TÜV), ensuring global deployability.
  • Contribute to prototype development, laboratory testing, field trials, and commercialization programs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Mechanical, Firmware, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Operations teams to ensure integrated system performance.
  • Interface with customers and vendors to resolve technical challenges and align product capabilities with market needs.
  • Drive innovation and contribute to Halliburton’s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability enhancement, cost optimization, and manufacturability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and influence technical standards (Principal and Advisor levels).

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical system design, testing, and product development.
  • Experience with power electronics, motor control systems, or industrial drive technologies.
  • Working knowledge of reliability engineering, validation testing, and engineering lifecycle processes.

 

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) or Variable Speed Drives (VSD).
  • Knowledge of international certification and compliance standards (CE, UL, TÜV).
  • Experience supporting product certification or regulatory approval processes.
  • Experience in oil & gas, Artificial Lift, or harsh-environment electrical systems.
