About the Role
The Controls & Automation Engineer supports the development, integration, and deployment of advanced electrical control systems, automation technologies, and intelligent monitoring solutions for Artificial Lift applications.


This role works at the intersection of electrical engineering, industrial automation, controls, communications, and digital technologies. The successful candidate will design and implement control architectures, support product development initiatives, troubleshoot complex systems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve operational performance and product reliability.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and support industrial control systems for Artificial Lift technologies and associated surface equipment.
• Develop PLC logic, control architectures, communications protocols, and automation solutions to support product performance and operational reliability.
• Design and integrate electrical panels, instrumentation, sensors, communications networks, and remote monitoring systems.
• Support development of Industrial IoT, telemetry, and intelligent monitoring capabilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, instrumentation, and communications issues across laboratory, manufacturing, and field environments.
• Develop technical documentation including electrical schematics, control narratives, installation procedures, and operating instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, field operations, and product development teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support prototype development, product testing, field trials, and commercialization activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with industrial controls, PLC programming, instrumentation, automation systems, or electrical equipment.
• Experience reading and developing electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and control system integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, energy, or field operations environments.

Preferred 
• Experience with PLC programming, ladder logic, structured text, or industrial automation platforms.
• Experience with MQTT, Industrial IoT, remote monitoring, SCADA, or telemetry systems.
• Experience integrating controls systems with sensors, remote I/O, and communications networks.
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, controls modeling, or automation testing.
• Experience with power generation equipment, motor controls, VFDs, or industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with oil & gas, Artificial Lift, drilling, industrial equipment, or process control applications.
