Job Duties

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under broad direction, the Principal Well Engineer is responsible for more technically complex well designs and process implementation for well proposals, the Well Basis of Design, and Well Operations iDoS and/ or Programs.
This level is responsible for supervising less senior Well Engineers while functioning as the Project level Engineering expert for well engineering and the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engineering studies required to solve recurring problems.
Provides engineering solutions related to engineering studies and operational problems, guidance for creation and approval of Approval for Expenditure (AFE), and ensures the technical integrity of Well Operations planning and execution.
Ensures risk assessments are conducted to assure a safe and environmentally acceptable program and forecasts and plans medium and long term needs to meet program requirements. Evaluates well design and engineering solutions for effectiveness and applicability.
Ability to create and review technical engineering documents.
Requires a Bachelor degree in STEM, preference in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, and 12+ years of well services experience.
Well Supervisory experience preferred; Multidiscipline operations a plus.
Must have Well Control Certificate.
