Job Duties
- Good understanding on basic accounting concepts
- Payroll accounting or General Accounting experience, able to handle Month end activities like JV postings, Manual accrual /reclass/ recharges, cost distribution and allocation reporting
- Understanding with Accrual, payment offsets, releases
- Cost trend analysis and analytical thinking to solve the problems and accounting treatment
- Hands-on experience with PIT and Inpat tax calculations/filings
- BS reconciliation preparation and exposure reporting
- Payroll related Statutory payments and reconciliations
- HC and personnel cost variance analysis
- Internal & External audit support and documentation
- Process transition experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of related experience required. A Bachelors Degree is preferred.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Specialist / Senior Payroll Specialist to manage payroll accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and stakeholder engagement activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, payroll expertise, and hands-on experience with payroll-related financial processes and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll accounting processes.
- Manage month-end close activities, including journal voucher (JV) postings, manual accruals, reclassifications, recharges, cost allocations, and related reporting.
- Handle payroll accounting transactions, including accruals, payment offsets, and release processes.
- Perform personnel cost analysis, cost trend analysis, and provide appropriate accounting treatment recommendations.
- Prepare and review Balance Sheet reconciliations and payroll-related exposure reports.
- Manage payroll statutory payments, filings, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
- Possess hands-on experience in Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Inpat tax calculations, reporting, and filings.
- Conduct headcount and personnel cost variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support business requirements and ad hoc requests.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and resolving audit queries.
- Participate in process migration, transition, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com), MBA (Finance), CA Inter, or CMA Inter.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance requirements.
Experience
- Payroll Specialist: 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Senior Payroll Specialist: 7 to 13 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Solid experience in payroll accounting and general accounting processes.
- Proficiency in SAP, BlackLine, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
