About the Role
The Senior Artificial Lift Systems Engineer provides advanced technical expertise supporting surveillance, optimization, and troubleshooting of Artificial Lift systems, with a strong emphasis on Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) technologies.
This role supports field operations, applications engineering, and remote monitoring initiatives by analyzing system performance, identifying optimization opportunities, and delivering technically sound solutions. The position collaborates cross-functionally with operations, technology, and commercial teams to improve system reliability, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
At the Principal level, the role expands to include broader technical authority, mentorship responsibilities, and strategic input into Artificial Lift system development and optimization programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for Artificial Lift systems, with emphasis on ESP design, operation, and optimization.
- Analyze performance data from surveillance and remote monitoring systems to diagnose issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support field troubleshooting efforts, including failure analysis and system reliability improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with applications, field service, and commercial teams to ensure optimal system design and execution.
- Assist in the development and refinement of technical standards, best practices, and optimization methodologies.
- Support customer engagements by providing technical expertise and system performance insights.
- Evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle cost.
- Contribute to product development feedback loops by identifying recurring technical issues and recommending design improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on surveillance, optimization, and system diagnostics.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, Remote Monitoring, Field Operations, or Technology Development within Artificial Lift systems.
- Strong experience with Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze production data and diagnose Artificial Lift performance issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams.
Preferred
- Experience with competitor Artificial Lift surface and downhole equipment (e.g., Baker Hughes, SLB, Weatherford).
- Experience with Permanent Magnet Motor (PMM) systems and advanced ESP motor technologies.
- Experience with surveillance platforms, SCADA systems, and digital optimization tools.
- Experience supporting global or multi-basin operations.
