Job Duties

  • Under general autonomy, guides a team of logistics professionals through the process of determining the most appropriate logistics channels to utilize.
  • Performs Logistics Category responsibilities, including Global Air/Ocean/Customs Brokerage RFPs, QBRs, contract rates negotiations, and Logistics compliance.
  • Manages Logistics compliance related issues such as governance, process creations, and vendor management.
  • Must handle continuously changing parameters from global locations that must be analyzed, assessed objectively and factored into the decision making to ensure goods are delivered on time and to the correct location.
  • Manage and interacts with external suppliers of services and internal customers from Product Service Line (PSL) VP to country VP and Operations Managers.
  • Role requires ability to understand global changes and to assess and adapt with analysis.
  • Requires commercial acumen, ability to negotiate new agreements as well as manage the service providers whose costs to the company are significant, but also to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Job responsible for various managerial functions including: interviewing applicants, training employees, directing and assessing subordinate work, performance management, and recommending increases in compensation for subordinates.
  • Also responsible for making decisions regarding the hiring and firing of employees. 

Qualifications

  • Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Logistics, Category Management, Supply Chain, Business or Engineering and 10 to 12 years of experience in logistics with international movement which includes: knowledge and experience in logistics movement in both ocean and air transport with hazardous materials, the management of teams performing these functions and direct management experience.
  • Experience in EDI, SAP, QLIK, and Logistics related systems preferred.
  • Experience in Logistics Compliance a plus.
  • MBA degree preferred.
  • IATA, IMDG and CFR49 may be required based on scope of work.
