Job Duties

The Commercial and Contracts Analyst is responsible for tender review and contract, identifying commercial and contractual risks, developing Clarification, exceptions and risk mitigation strategies, supporting tender negotiations, and managing contracts throughout their lifecycle. The role ensures that contractual commitments are clearly understood, appropriately approved, and effectively managed during execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents, customer contracts, Master Service Agreements, purchase orders, amendments, and extensions.
  • Identify contractual, commercial, financial, and operational risks and recommend suitable mitigation measures to the management.
  • Reviewing and supporting tender team in preparing clear contractual exceptions, qualifications, and clarifications.
  • Develop negotiation positions, including preferred outcomes, acceptable fallback positions, and matters requiring management approval.
  • Lead or support contract negotiations with customers and ensure that agreed positions are accurately reflected in the final contract.
  • Prepare contract summaries, obligation registers, and handover documentation for operational and project teams.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, notice requirements, milestones, securities, renewals, and expiry dates.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, responsibilities, liabilities, and compliance requirements in case of any dispute or claim.
  • Manage contract variations, amendments, extensions, claims, disputes, and entitlement to additional compensation or time.
  • Ensure timely issuance of contractual notices and appropriate maintenance of contract records.
  • Support the resolution of disputed invoices, deductions, penalties, and other commercial issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 4 to 7 years of total experience in procurement and contracts, contract management role in upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 3 years procurement and contracts handling drilling services contracts, within oil and gas upstream operators .
  • Demonstrated experience in handling tenders for goods and services for oil and gas operator, tender and contract review, risk assessment, contract negotiations, post-award contract management, variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Good understanding of oil and gas contractual terms and associated commercial risks.
  • Technical understanding of oilfield services and different contract models
  • Experience working with complex contracts and cross-functional, international stakeholders will be preferred.
